This is how you feel right now

We all thought that this pandemic would have passed quickly, and who didn’t? We had hope, a lot of it.

at the beginnig of 2020

Last year Covid surprised everyone, and when scientists were still trying to understand what this was about, we were all said to stay locked up at home.

All day long, in the same place, maybe with the same people: 2020 has been boring as you never felt.

Every time you heard about a person dying from the new disease, you just saw a little of your hope vanishing.
And when there were thousands of them suffering, there were still the ones that enjoyed their lives like nothing happened: this is when your disdain grew.

Sadness, loneliness, and despair have been your most faithful friends for months and every morning when you got up from your bed, you knew you would have to deal with them.

quarantine

Every single day felt like the day before, because your life was made only by school, work, and home.
You hadn’t any other chance: you couldn’t decide what was best for you, but you had just to follow the rules.

Do you want to know why you did all this and you hold on? For the good of Humanity.
You put your interests aside for all the people living in this world, and that’s why it hurt so much.

Because for once, you couldn’t be selfish.

You would say that you are not selfish, so I ask you: “Is it painful to stay at home?”. Of course it is.
What kind of person doesn’t care about seeing their friends, or doing sport, or traveling?
These are all selfish things because we miss them just for our own pleasure and wellness.

Thinking about you is not necessarily a bad attitude: it means that you love your life and don’t want to waste a minute of it.

Time is the key; we all fear it.
Unfortunately, we are not immortal, therefore we don’t know how many years we have left but we certainly don’t want to lose any moment that could be a cause of happiness.

Quarantine has deprived us of an entire year of joy and adventure, making us sink into monotony.

It has brought you new reasons to cry, making you forget what were your problems before.
You are not sad anymore because of you, you just couldn’t be now: there’s a lot more to think about.
You suffer because you are worried about work or because of the destructive effects of Covid.

now

2020 has truly been a singular year.
The pain hasn’t gone away yet; you still carry the scars of this challenging period.
How could you trust in a fresh start? You don’t know what to feel about 2021. Deep down, there’s still hope inside of you, but it wouldn’t rise to the surface before a change takes place after all your efforts and sufferings.

Remember that you are not really alone: we are all in this together.
